Tips on booking cruise cabins for a family trip

Halong Bay is famous for being a popular destination for family trip as each generation may find their own activities and fun. Worrying about not being able to stay together in a room is no more a problem as the new trendy small boats have something special to offer and solve the question.Family trip in Halong BayQuiet and more privacy

New small cruises concept has become the latest trend in Halong Bay for travelers who want to spend a timid and quiet vacation in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Operating on a small 5-7 cabin boat means only a maximum group of only 12 – 16 passengers will share the journey. No need to worry about the noisy crowd that may annoy your kids or elders! If lucky enough, you may get to share the boats with only 2-3 other families, who actually has the same vision of a cozy trip. Your vacation will be as peaceful as the jade-colored sea and breath-taking limestone around.Family trip in Halong BayConnecting cabin for the whole family

Deciding a suitable cabin type for your needs in a cruise trip is not simple in any circumstance, but choosing a perfect room for a family trip of 5-6 members with kids (and even elders) is even a tougher job. With limited space of a boat, can more than 2 people fit in 1 cabin? Is letting your 2 children sleep separatedly in another cabin safe or not? If not, should each of you accompany 1 kid and cannot spend time together?

Premium Balcony Cabin for family trip in Halong BayHalong Bay cannot carry on giant luxury ships with huge cabins like other destinations due to the special geographic formation. But nowadays, cruise boats have been onboard with more family-friendly facilities and services. One of which is the connecting cabins with at least 1 pair per boat. Bhaya Classic’s new premium line has provided more spacious cabins that allow maximum 3 guests, therefore, 1 pair of connecting cabin can fit maximum 6 guests – a perfect number for family or a group of friend. With a connecting door that can be opened from both sides, you can choose to leave your members a little privacy or join them for a smooth time together.

VISITING A FLOATING FISHING VILLAGE ON HALONG BAY TOURS

On a trip to Halong Bay, one of the most popular activity is the visit of a floating village. It’s a “must see” on any Halong Bay junks. That is why most of the Halong tour operators will include this visit in their package.

Vung Vieng Floating Village

Vung Vieng Floating Village

There are 4 villages accessible on a Halong Bay cruise, gathering a total population of around 250 residents, with nearly 30% of children. Fishing is their main source of income, men goes to the mainland to sell the big catches while keeping the little ones, to feed them until they get bigger and sell them later on.

The visit of the village is organized on a sampan, driven by a woman as men are fishing. This very charming tour to Halong Bay usually includes the visit of the local school and the community floating home. Tourists are welcome to bring some scholar furniture and will definitely a very warm smile in return.

Don’t forget to tip your driver as well, and try out to drive the basket boat yourself, it is way more difficult than it seems and will be great fun for your partners. Halong Bay cruises actually became an important source of income as well.

Unfortunately, those villages tend to disappear as the local authority wants to relocate them on the land, to ensure their security during the violent summer storms, and also to limit their rapid expansion and the environment risk linked to it.

According to travelers’ opinion, meeting the local population of these villages is one of the best moments of their travel to Halong Bay during their cruise tour.

Tai Chi on Halong Bay with Bhaya Cruises | Way to your inner peace

Tai Chi is an outstanding gem of traditional Chinese culture that is valuable in promoting health, developing combat and self-defense skills, and improving concentration and overall well-being. This ancient art uses gentle flowing movements to reduce the stress of today’s busy lifestyles.

Tai Chi emphasizes complete relaxation, and is essentially a form of meditation, or what has been called “meditation in motion.” Though it is soft, slow, and flowing, the movements are executed precisely.

“Whoever practices Tai Chi regularly will in time gain the suppleness of a child,
the strength of a lion, and the peace of mind of a sage.”

– Old Saying –

Morning Tai Chi class on Halong Bay

Tai Chi on Halong Bay – A great experience ever!

One of the most important points to Tai Chi practice is the relaxation of your mind and body. Choosing a quiet time and tranquil place with open fresh air is a great factor to help induce the body into a balanced and meditative state.

On a Bhaya cruise, we mark the morning Tai Chi class as one of our Halong Bay cruise tour’s highlights. Early in the morning of the 2nd and/or 3rd day of the tour, we offer you a Tai Chi class on the sundeck of our vessel. Our experienced Tai Chi master will instruct you to use the conscious mind to guide the movements and let it lead the body. This will develop your deep concentration to find your inner peace in harmony with nature. Early morning on Halong Bay is a perfect time as it is quiet and sunrise warms up your body. Enjoying the Bay’s outstanding scenic beauty of limestone islets rising from emerald waters will take your mind completely away from stress.
